• Court Appointed Community Service

    Second Chance SPCA has a program for Court Appointed Community Service. You must submit an application and complete an orientation before beginning to serve community service hours. Before you fill out the Community Service Application form, read the requirements below. All of the requirements listed below must be met. If you are under 18, please have your parent or guardian sign the required documents. After you submit your application, our Director of Volunteers will be in contact with you to discuss training/orientation. Applicants are accepted on a case-by-case basis. No felony, theft, violent crime, or animal abuse offenders will be accepted, nor will individuals found guilty of offenses of a sexual nature. 

    Court Appointed Community Service Requirements 

    • You must be 18 years of age or older.
    • You must complete a minimum of 40 hours of community service.
    • You must complete the Community Service application and sign all release forms.
    • You must attend an orientation prior to serving community service hours.
    • You must submit court documentation (which states the offense) with your application and you must bring this documentation with you to orientation. The inability to provide such documentation will disqualify you from consideration.
    • You must meet the physical and mental capabilities listed under the Volunteer Requirements.
    • You must pay the $30 volunteer fee which includes a volunteer t-shirt to wear.
    • You must wear closed-toe shoes.
    • You must provide for your own transportation
