…Simply providing quality loving compassionate care to the dogs and cats as they pass through the shelter onto their forever homes. One of the most significant values I have gained through my volunteering work at Second Chance is the importance of volunteer service and of making lasting friendships. It also allows me to make a difference in the lives of the dogs and cats that come into the shelter. Each time I end my volunteering shift, I feel better and as if I have done something worthwhile and that’s irreplaceable. Volunteering has also made me a better person because rather than just “being passionate”, I actively work on making it happen. I also see that when our volunteers come together with a common goal, we really can move heaven and earth!
