Lara moved to Plano from Massachusetts in 2017 and started at Second Chance shortly after.  She has one “child,” a dog named Henry, who is a 4-year-old Bassett hound mix (he’s from New Hampshire!).

Second Chance SPCA isn’t her first experience with animal care. She started her career in this field with a boarding facility when she was just 16. She started off as a kennel tech and climbed the ranks to assistant manager. She stayed in boarding for a few years, then made the jump to animal rescue, where she met Henry, who demanded Lara take him home with her forever. After that, she worked at a veterinary clinic and she picked up quite a few skills which she uses all the time at Second Chance.

Lara used to be our Director of Operations and is now staying on as Co-Vice-President.
