As a volunteer/donation based organization, Second Chance SPCA, needs your help this NTxGD!! The funds raised during this event are vital to our organization and to our mission: to rescue dogs and cats at risk of euthanasia from municipal shelters and provide them with quality care in a compassionate, no-kill environment until adopted into responsible, caring homes.

Last year we rescued many special needs dogs and cats that needed lots of love and urgent medical care. One of our more recent special needs pup is Bosco, who suffers from hip dysplasia and a bad infection, he’s gone through several surgeries and special care that had ranged from $1,000 to $5,000 per visit, Bosco is still recovering in foster care. Another two special needs pups are Sabrina and Ash, who became ill shortly after being rescued, they were rushed to the ER where they were diagnosed with parvovirus. They spent several days in intensive care, sadly, Ash did not make it, but Sabrina’s health improved and she is now ready for a forever family, their medical care was around $5,000.

Just like these pups, there are many more that need extra care and extra love. With your support we are able to rescue and care for at-risk cats and dogs; since we are a no-kill shelter, our rescues have time to adjust and find a family that fits them perfectly. Just ask Petey, he has been with us since December 2020; when he was rescued, he was the shyest pup, afraid of everything. But, with lots of love and patience, he eventually came out of his shell, and after 9 months, he’s still looking for his forever family (in the meantime, he gets all the treats and attention from our volunteers).
