We want to thank and congratulate Amina Syed on her Animal Mill Awareness Project for bringing awareness to this grave issue.
Amina is currently a rising junior at Plano West and a Girl Scout of 10 years. Amina’s inspiration behind choosing her gold award project to be about animal abuse was to “represent those who are not spoken for. As animal lovers or pet owners, it is essential that we stand up for our pets and make sure that they are taken care of. While our animals may stay silent we must not.”
Through her project, Amina tackled the issues of animal mills in an intuitive manner that promoted animal shelters and pet adoptions. In addition to raising awareness through pamphlets and videos (like the one below), she took action by organizing shirt drives and toy workshops for local shelters, including SCSPCA.“Information and initiative are key to stopping animal abuse and through my project, we took a leap forward for animals in America.” Meet Amina’s pet, Munia. She was adopted back in 2016 from Second Chance SPCA! You can download Amina’s pamphlet below with more information about Animal Mills and the importance of pet adoption.
We'd love to hear what you think
